Meet the Team

Julia, Deputy Editor, Trend Forseer & General Overseer

Since completing a degree in History at University of Cambridge, she has busied herself with film projects and a Masters in Renaissance Art at the Courtauld Institute of Art in London.

Super creative and brimming with energy, she has worked at London Fashion Weeks with the British Fashion Council for the last several years. Being a Virgo, she is a natural at dotting the i's and crossing the t's and she knows what's hot, what's not and what's what when it comes to Fashion and style.

Full of ideas, this London girl is Shophoppingmap's primary soundboard and green light controller.

FAVOURITES FACT LIST:

Colour: Flamingo Pink

Food: Anything by Ottolenghi. Their clementine and almond cake is particularly dangerous.

Drink: Double Amaretto on ice, with a few slices of fresh lime.

Band: I’ve been listening to the Lone Bellow a lot lately, after going to gig of theirs earlier in the year. They’re a great blues/country band from Brooklyn. Also the Grateful Dead.

Fashion Designers: Muccia Prada is a genius but Simone Rocha is my latest favourite. And J. JS Lee for the boys.

London Hangouts: The Anglesea Arms, Victoria and Albert Museum Library... and my roof!

Place in the World: Tuscany for relaxing, Connemara for recuperating, San Francisco for the rest!

Catherine, Art Director & Cultural Contributer

After completing a degree in English Literature and History of Art at Trinity College Dublin, Catherine cut her design teeth at Central St. Martin's in London.  Torn between her love of design and writing, she has worked in creative publishing at It's Nice That, Random House and The Hayward Gallery.

She is a clever hardworking Capricorn and au fait with the goings on in the Art and Music worlds.  She puts an intellectual slant on the every day and sees things from another angle, which she kindly shares through her ARTicles on art and culture.

She is a whizz at graphic design and editing and casts her aesthetic eyes over the site to make sure it looks good!  We think of her as the website stylist.

FAVOURITES FACT LIST:

Colour: Sea-green

Food: Kimchi for a work-lunch treat, and okanomayaki (Japanese pancakes) at Abeno are a recent revelation. I also like any meal that involves avocados.

Drink: Ginger Mojito - the Ridley Road Market Bar do a good one

Band: The National - looking forward to seeing them this summer

Fashion Designers: Stella McCartney and Alice Temperly

London Hangouts: The roof garden of the Southbank Centre is fantastic, and The Old George is great for a catch-up, while I've seen some decent sets at the Servant Jazz Quarters.

Place in the world: Barcelona for the food, California for the lifestyle, and anywhere on the Irish west coast for the surf, skies and (quite occasional) sun.
