I LOVE this white Mongolian Sheepskin vest from Forzieri. It exudes a glamorous backstage-here-I-come hippy-rocker vibe but is also perfect for the Après-Ski wardrobe. Sure why not combine the two?! Rock n Roll in the mountains….Check out The Brits – Music and Winter Festival in Laax, Switzerland and The Little World Festival in Méribel, France. Food for thought. In the meantime however, it is (apart from today which is a blustery rainy wind-pulling-at-your-hair sort of day) quite a mild November in London and I would simply throw this on over a cashmere sweater with a pair of skinny blue jeans and flat boots for urban wanders. To hip it up, I would team it with some bohemian jewellery and a beautiful headband from Maison Michel or Deepa Gurnani or L.A. Native. There are plenty of sequined hair pieces to be found on the highstreet too. To glam it up for night-time, I would wear the vest over a silver/pastel sequinned disco dress such as the All Over Sequin Dress at TFNC.
And of course, as every glamorous hippy-rocker knows, there is nothing better to finish (or indeed start) an outfit off with than a pair of Terry de Havilland wedges. I can’t decide between the Margaux Crystal Nude Suede or Margaux Silver Python colourways. In fact I love the Gold Python too… Decisions decisions… Indeed, as Marc Jacobs put it so well in his recent Vogue UK interview (Nov 2010 edition), “a style decision is a luxury decision but it is still a decision”. I would agree wholeheartedly with this and there is nothing more difficult for a happy-go-lucky hippy than a decision, luxury or otherwise. However, I believe that the vest above is not a decision, even for the flightiest, most procrastinating of glamorous hippies, it’s a must!
